Everyone knows that in the Soviet Union there was no sex, no religion, no democracy, and if something scandalous happened, the authorities preferred to keep silent about it. Nevertheless, it was difficult for society to hide the bloody details of the most terrible crimes. Some of the maniacs listed in this collection of most evil serial killers for a long time could not catch after the collapse of the USSR, and some people were accused at random.
10. Vasily Kulik – “The Irkutsk Monster”
In childhood, Vasily Kulik was a painful child, but in the family, he was always looked after and cared for. Because of persistent illnesses, he was forgiven almost everything, so Vasily grew quite selfish and cruel, in adolescence, poisoned and hanged cats.
With age, Kulik grew stronger and began to play sports. After an attack and a blow to the head in 1980, he began to have sexual desires towards children, in 1982 Kulik committed the first rape, and in two years and the first murder of a nine-year-old girl. The maniac and the murders of pensioners did not shun: according to his own admission, he made a list of the old women he was interested in.
In Irkutsk, panic began, and the killer tried to be more careful, however, during the next attempt in 1986, he was stopped by passers-by. “The Irkutsk monster” confessed everything, however, at court he suddenly began to deny his involvement, stating that he was framed by a gang of Chibis. After a thorough investigation, Vasily Kulik was shot in 1989. On his account, there were 13 murders.
9. Sergei Tkach – “The Pavlograd maniac”
Gorudoval Tkach since 1980, the motives of his crimes have always been of a sexual nature. The murderer began to commit crimes after moving to Ukraine; He chose girls from 9 to 17 years. Weaver carefully concealed the evidence without leaving traces of sperm, prints and tissues on the bodies, however, he did not refuse the memorabilia of his victims, which he carefully preserved.
In 2005, Tkach dealt with another victim – a nine-year-old girl – after which he was detained. During his search, 14 people were innocently convicted of committing crimes, in which Tkach confessed.

8. Vladimir Mukhankin – “Lenin”
Vladimir was born in an incomplete family by an unwanted child (his father left his mother before the birth of his son), as a result of which he endured constant harassment and a bad attitude at home. Hardened by the environment, Mukhankin periodically wandered, stole, attacked people and tortured and mocked animals. His nature did not stop him from getting married at the age of 18, he had a son, who later died.
In 1995, “Lenin” begins to kill and commits for several months eight murders. Mukhankin mocked his dying victims, producing horrendous actions over the agonizing body. The real passion of the maniac was the human organs with which he often went to bed.
After the capture, the criminal behaved indecently and declared that he was the second Chikatilo. Mukhankin with pleasure described in detail his crimes, but at the trial, he refused all his testimony. He was found guilty of 22 crimes, eight of which were murders. Now Mukhankin is serving a life sentence in the “Black Dolphin” colony.
7. Vladimir Ionesyan – “Mosgaz”
In times of Khrushchev’s thaw, it was difficult to imagine that an intruder would enter your apartment, introducing himself as an employee, for example, Mosgaz, which gave the criminal the opportunity to use this simple method. The authorities were furious, all the forces were cast to catch the maniac.
Due to the rapid investigation and early massacre of Lonesyan, his motives remained unclear. Most likely, he killed for the purpose of robbery. There is also a version, after the departure of his wife to the ballerina Alevtina Dmitrieva, the perpetrator penetrated into the apartments to find gifts for the woman. The first murder of “Mosgaz” committed in the 1963 year: after entering the apartment, he hacked with an axe the 12-year-old boy, who was at home alone and took several things. The last murder of a 46-year-old woman occurred in 1964, the same year the criminal was taken into custody and shot.

6. Roman Burtsev – “Kamensky Chikatilo”

5. Aleksey Sukletin – “Alligator”
On account of Sukletin, seven girls and women whom he killed and ate with his accomplices Shakirova and Nikitin. The first victim was a woman named Ekaterina Osetrova in 1981. Sukletin insisted that his mistress Shakirova help him kill, cut and prepare the dead. Madina Shakirova, in love, was ready to go for everything for the sake of her lover, so she agreed to take on the duties of the cook.
The idyll of cannibals did not last long – after the murder of the little girl Sukletin and Shakirova parted ways. Maniac grieved for a short while and immediately found a replacement – a visit was often visited by his relative Anatoly Nikitin, with whom they, as a result, killed and dismembered a new victim.
In the village, rumours began circulating that Sukletin sells quality meat and tenderloin, and the gang in the meantime began to engage in extortion, on which it was caught. Four sacks of human bones were found in Sukletin’s garden. The maniac was shot in 1994, and Shakirova and Nikitin were sentenced to 15 years in prison. 4. Anatoly Onoprienko – “Citizen O”
In 1996, when Onoprienko was taken into custody, about 52 of his dead were already on his account. The exact number of deaths to this day remains unknown, but according to the suggestion of the investigation, the victims were much more.
Onoprienko began his activity in 1989 with his partner Sergei Rogozin. The “deathly duo” killed couples and even young people’s companies, and they broke into homes and shot all family members, including children. Often Onoprienko shot random passers-by.
The motives of the crimes of the citizen O still remain unknown. According to him, he killed people because some forces and voices ordered him to do it. Crimes included three waves: against communism, nationalism and the plague of the 21st century. After a long search, the investigation finally came to the eye of Onoprienko. True, before that, an innocent man who died during torture was detained. After the trial, Anatoly Onoprienko was sentenced to death, but the verdict was never executed due to the abolition of the death penalty in Ukraine.3
3. Sergei Golovkin – “Fisher”
Serguei was considered a young attractive man, but despite the fact that girls were always around him, he showed no interest in them. Fisher was more interested in adolescent boys.
The first attempt at rape and murder was the incident in 1984 (after many years the surviving victim was able to identify Golovkin). The first homicide was the strangulation in 1984 of 16-year-old Andrei: threatening reprisals, Golovkin dragged the boy into the woods, raped, strangled and abused his body. Then the murders continued and caused a public outcry, because of which Fischer decided to temporarily go underground.
In 1989, Golovkin “went into business”, but changed the handwriting somewhat. He built a basement in his garage, where he tortured, raped and killed boys. Due to the fact that the killer became careless and inaccurately dig in the last bodies, he was quickly calculated and found. In 1992, Fisher was finally detained. 2. Anatoly Utkin – “The Ulyanovsk maniac”
Anatoly Utkin, born in 1942, by profession was a driver. In 1968, his car was stopped by a 14-year-old girl Liza Makarova, who urgently needed to get to the hospital with her mother. Taking advantage of the moment, Utkin raped and killed the poor thing, leaving a few of her personal belongings “in memory.”
Victims of the waxed maniac turned out to be both young girls and middle-aged women. After the disappearances of the girls and the finds of corpses, the public started: in quiet Ulyanovsk, a serial killer appeared! Over time, Utkin began to more cautiously approach the choice of victims – he was guided by careful planning.
In 1972, the motives of the maniac changed: now his goal was not violence and murder, but profit. In the same year, Utkin killed a man for the sake of robbery, and 1973 was taken into custody. After the investigation and the evidence found in the house of the suspect, the police did not have any doubts about his guilt. In 1975, Utkin was shot, in total, nine murders of his “authorship” were identified.
Oddly enough, his family and friends spoke highly of Anatoly Utkin. He was twice married and had two children.
1. Anatoly Nikolaevich Biryukov – “The Hunter for the Infants”
Biryukov seemed an exemplary family man and a respectable citizen: no one suspected that a decent husband and father led a double life. His first murder Biryukov committed in the 1977 year. He kidnapped the baby from the stroller, took it to a deserted place and tried to commit violent actions of a well-known nature over him. However, the maniac was frightened off by idlers, and he killed the baby with a knife blow. In the same year Biryukov committed several more rapes and murders of kidnapped babies, but by the sixth case, witnesses began to follow him. Fortunately for the investigation, they were able to examine the rapist and make a photo sketch.
After the arrest, investigators and psychiatrists concluded that Biryukova suffered from a severe form of not-pedophilia, a passion for infants. To justify the offender said that he committed his atrocities because his wife refused to maintain intimate relations with him. In 1979, Biryukov, who killed a total of five babies, was shot.
