Leaning towards getting an ACON, but still considering other trampoline options? We’re here to help. Choosing the right trampoline has always been tricky, but it’s even more challenging when you are planning to get a premium trampoline. After all, you want to make sure that you are making the right investment that will last you for years to come.
In this article, we go through what kind of options the Finnish trampoline company ACON trampolines has when it comes to the selection of trampolines in USA market.
Five steps to purchasing your first ACON
Buying an ACON happens online through their renewed online store. There, you can find detailed information about various sizes, shapes as well as valuable blog content regarding trampoline care and ways to enjoy your new investment in your family life.
While the process is easy, there are some things you might want to consider before heading to the checkout. Note that these steps can also be used when purchasing from another premium trampoline company, so if you are still in that state where you are torn between two or more options, these should also fit that purpose.
Step 1 – Round or rectangular?
First off, you need to think about the shape. Choosing the shape will narrow down the selection significantly, which is why we’ve listed it as the first step. Basically, you can either go for a classic round trampoline or a more modern rectangular trampoline shape. Simply put, the round models are perfect for small kids and regular jumping. Depending on the size (which comes next), they are also suitable for family fun. When bouncing on a round trampoline, the highest jump can be experienced in the middle of the trampoline, while the sides give you a lower bounce. This applies to all round models – not just ACON trampolines. If the round one is your choice, note that you’ve narrowed your options from seven to five models; the 6ft, the 10ft, the 12ft, the 14ft and the 15ft.
Now, if you are looking for the flagship trampoline that ACON is known for, you need to look into their rectangular trampoline options. The company offers two models: the flagship 16 Sport HD and the smaller version of it, 13 Sport HD. The benefit of a rectangular trampoline is that it’s suitable for advanced jumping (yet can be used for family fun).
Thanks to its shape, they give the person an even bounce no matter where you jump on it. This is especially beneficial and necessary for advanced trampoline tricking and gymnastics where predicting the feel of the bounce is crucial. So, if you have gymnasts or tricking enthusiasts at your home (or you think they might enjoy learning complex tricks in their pre-teens), you should opt for the rectangular trampoline.
Step 2 – Small, medium or large?
Once you’ve narrowed down your ACON shape, it’s time to look into the sizes. As said, the company provides round trampolines in five sizes and rectangular trampolines in two sizes. Simply put:
- The 6ft trampoline is a small trampoline designed mainly for tricking or as a second trampoline for a holiday home or cottage. Max single user weight limit: 220 lb
- The 10ft trampoline is a small trampoline ideal for small children as their first trampoline or for small yards. Max single user weight limit: 265 lb
- The 12ft trampoline is a medium sized trampoline suitable for small to mid sized yards and for family fun. No single user weight limit.
- The 14ft and 15ft trampolines are the largest round ACON trampolines available. The best options for family fun and even for beginner level tricking. No single user weight limit.
Now, if you prefer the rectangular version, you have two options:
- 16 Sport HD is a large trampoline (17 x 9.8 ft) suitable for large yards. This trampoline in this size provides the ultimate jumping experience.
- 13 Sport HD provides a similar experience in a slightly smaller size (13.5 x 8.5 ft). Perfect for those who want to do gymnastics and tricking yet have a bit less space available.
With so many sizes available, you are sure to find the one for your needs.
Step 3 – With or without trampoline enclosure?
Next, there’s the need to choose whether you go for a trampoline with or without enclosure. In most cases, it’s highly recommended to go for a trampoline with enclosure as it is the most important safety feature of any trampoline – regardless of whether you go for ACON or for another trampoline company. The enclosure keeps kids, teens and yes, even adults safe in case the jump or landing doesn’t go as planned. However, if you are sure that you need a trampoline without the enclosure, you can also do that. Note that the enclosure is not available for the smallest round trampoline 6ft.
Step 4 – With regular or performance springs?
Next, you need to think a bit about the springs – but this applies only to those who opted for the rectangular one in step 1. Recently, ACON trampolines added Performance piano springs into their product catalog. These springs provide even softer bounce with more air time (that is, higher jumps), ideal for those who want the best of the best. These springs are designed for those who are avid trickers and gymnasts, who execute complex tricks and need immaculate bounce.
For most, however, the regular X-springs that ACON offers with all of its trampolines is beyond what you may need. This applies for many families as well. The standard springs provide excellent bounce and possibilities for trampoline tricking, so don’t think that you’ll settle for less if you opt for the original package.
Step 5 – With or without trampoline accessories?
Lastly, it’s time to consider the accessories for trampoline. This is also something that you can do later, however, as all trampoline accessories can be bought separately. Some of the popular accessories include:
- Basketball hoop
- Trampoline wheels
- Trampoline tent
- Crash mat
- Weather cover
The accessories are there to enhance and amplify your experience even more.
Are you ready for the best bounce?
Needless to say, the selection of trampolines in USA is enormous. The options are vast and they are available both online and offline. Some prefer American-made brands, while others prefer to simply get what’s best for their needs, wants and wishes. Opting for ACON trampolines is a great choice; something that you’ll cherish for years to come.
