The decade of the 2020s is the first time when UAPs are given some significant consideration. Nowadays, scientists are willing to discuss a variety of UFO topics. However, there was once a period when talking about this subject was deemed “taboo,” and anyone who ventured to do so was ridiculed. It is possible that this is another reason why Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were reluctant to discuss their experiences with UFOs in public.
Therefore, does this imply that they came across something on the moon? It should come as no surprise that the astronauts will never answer “yes” to the world. However, they are the individuals who made the claims of having obtained the information from the astronauts who allegedly told them about their UFO experience while they were in space.
In an interview with the Science Channel in 2005, Aldrin said that the Apollo 11 crew had spotted a UFO en route to the moon. As he put it, “There was something out there that, uh, was close enough to be observed and what could it be?… Mike (Collins) decided he thought he could see it in the telescope, and he was able to do that when it was in one position, that had a series of ellipses, but when you made it real sharp, it was sort of L-shaped. That didn’t tell us very much.” (Source)
In later years, Aldrin asserted that his words had been misconstrued, despite the fact that a senior scientist from the Apollo 11 mission, Dr. David Baker, backed up Aldrin’s account. Further, the second man on the moon said: “Now, obviously, the three of us were not going to blurt out, ‘Hey Houston we got something moving alongside of us and we don’t know what it is, you know, can you tell us what it is?’ We weren’t about to do that, cause we know that those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and who knows what somebody would have demanded that we turn back because of Aliens or whatever the reason is, so we didn’t do that but we did decide we’d just cautiously ask Houston where, how far away was the S-IVB?”
Dr. Baker claimed that NASA was aware of the object that was reported by the Apollo 11 crew. “It was obviously an unidentified flying object, but such objects were not uncommon and the history of even earth orbit space flights going back over the previous years indicated that several crews saw objects,” he said. Dr. Baker went on to note that a significant number of individuals involved in the Apollo program were under the impression that extraterrestrial life existed.
Carol Mersch, the author of “The Apostles of Apollo,” has released an updated version of her book re-titled “A Bible on the Moon,” that includes Apollo 11 Buzz Aldrin’s bizarre query to Mission Control about an unusual spacecraft hovering nearby. Here is a detailed look into both of the Apollo 11 astronauts’ cases, which implies that they saw something on their mission to the Moon in 1969. (Source)
Aldrin asked a question that was a veiled request for the location of the rocket’s final stage that had been discarded earlier, “Do you have any idea where the S-IVB is in respect to us?” In close proximity to the Apollo 11 spacecraft, there was a strange object. “There was something out there that was close enough to be observed,” Aldrin said. “If the object wasn’t a part of the Apollo rocket, it could be only one thing—a UFO.” The implication escaped Mission Control.

Apollo 11 audio transcripts show Mr. Armstrong said: “Do you have any idea where the S-IVB is with respect to us?” The S-IVB was the third stage of the Saturn V rocket used to reach the Moon and had by that point already jettisoned from the Apollo 11 Command and Service Modules. Mission Control then replied: “Apollo 11, Houston, the S-IVB is about 6,000 nautical miles from you now. Over.”
Aldrin, however, would later describe the object in his sighting as “one of the panels from the separation of the spacecraft from the upper stage.” This was done so that he would not be laughed at. He stated this at an episode of “Larry King Live” that aired in August 2007 and was also attended by the director of “Moment of Contact,” James Fox.
In 2010, Mr. Fox disclosed to Open Minds radio that he had learned about Aldrin’s UFO sighting and that he had attempted to interview Aldrin in order to obtain additional information about the incident. He detailed how he had initially developed a relationship with Buzz Aldrin’s sister, Fay Ann Potter, and how he had eventually been granted the opportunity to question Buzz Aldrin about his sighting. Buzz Aldrin allegedly mentioned in a conversation with Fay Ann that “something followed them to the Moon.” (Source)
Fox reported that Buzz Aldrin was ready to tell his story, but at the last minute, he backed out of an interview because of fear of being called a “UFO Nut.” Alejandro Rojas wrote: “Aldrin told Fox that Paul Allen had just invested in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), and he was labeled a UFO nut. Aldrin explained that he could not jeopardize his initiative of getting funding for a rocket to send citizens into outer space. He then asked what difference his story would make anyway. Fox told him that it takes people of his caliber to come forward to take the phenomena out of the rut that it’s in. That didn’t sway Aldrin, he refused to do the interview. Fox was obviously very disappointed.”
Previously, Aldrin claimed that Phobos, one of Mars’ moons, features a monolith. “We should visit the moon of Mars, there’s a monolith there, a very unusual structure on this little potato-shaped object that revolves around Mars once every seven hours. When people find out about that they are going to say, ‘Who put that there? Who put that there?’ Well, the universe put it there, or if you choose, God put it there,” he said. As a result of his involvement in the mystery of the monolith on Phobos, more people started looking for evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars.
