Christopher Mellon, a former Defense for Intelligence official under the Clinton and Bush administrations is probably the important person on whom UFO researchers should put an eye. He pressurized Congress for the recent UFO hearing to hold that analyzed the unidentified objects sighted by the military. Moreover, he claims to know the names of individuals who are going to testify to the existence of recovered alien technology or are considering doing so.
Mr. Mellon first time spoke of his experience within government as they relate to UFOs in 2016. In an interview with Leslie Kean published on the now-closed HuffPost Contributor Forum, Mellon stated:
“I highly doubt DoD or any other government agency is concealing UFO information. I participated in a comprehensive review of DoD’s black programs and spent over a decade conducting oversight of the national foreign intelligence program, an almost totally separate world of secrets. I visited Area 51 and other military, intelligence and research facilities.
During all those years, I never detected the faintest hint of government interest or involvement in UFOs. … While a few new, previously overlooked documents might turn up (the bureaucracy is never perfect), I do not believe they would resolve the UFO issue or provide significant new insights. I can think of one lengthy UFO report that is classified only due to concerns over sources and methods. In fact, it identified a convincing conventional explanation for the pilot sightings in this particular case.
There are lots of classified documents related to activities at Area 51, where high security is needed. But this is all legitimate stuff the American people would support. They have nothing to do with UFOs, to the best of my knowledge.”
However, in a March 2022 opinion piece published by “The Hill,” Mr. Mellon said: “I am approaching the UAP topic as a member of two serious groups of scientific researchers, the Galileo Project and the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU). Both of these UAP research organizations have gathered able groups of scientists who are seeking to advance our collective understanding of UAP anomalies. Those efforts now appear to be hindered by new guidance that moves the classification yardsticks merely because some U.S. government officials dislike oversight and are uncomfortable sharing information.”

In a recent interview by La Vangaurdia, a newspaper in Spain, Mellon claimed:
“For the first time, we’re actually starting to really collect all the data and really study it. We have many reports that indicate that there has been some contact and some communication. We’ve had incidents where these objects were flying right over the capital of the United States and this has happened in other countries. We’ve had situations where these things have landed and hundreds of people have seen them. There may have been some contact and interaction.
From a national security standpoint, it seems to be very interested in our military capabilities, we’re seeing a lot of activity around nuclear weapons production and processing facilities. For example, around some of our carrier strike groups and military assets. So who is that and why are they so active there, why are they so interested that’s just something that we need to know and understand to make sure that that there’s nothing that we need to be concerned about.”
Mr. Mellon was featured in the 2020 UFO documentary “The Phenomenon,” directed by longtime UFO enthusiast James Fox. In the documentary, Mellon noted that he was the source who provided the three Pentagon UFO videos which made the “lavish front-page Sunday spread” of the New York Times on December 17, 2017: “Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’.” In the documentary, Mellon claims he met with an individual he does identify in the parking lot of the Pentagon and was handed a package containing three videos recorded by U. S. Navy pilots between 2004 and 2015.
Mr. Mellon shared the possibility of alien life out in the universe and discussed the piece of information revealed by various renowned scientists in his latest article on The Debrief entitled: “THE PARADOX OF FERMI’S PARADOX.”
He writes: “It is also conceivable that more advanced civilizations have achieved faster than light travel by exploiting wormholes, ‘interdimensional travel,’ or by some other means we have not yet conceived. Other civilizations may also have developed the ability to extend biological lifetimes indefinitely. If nothing else, it is easy to imagine uncrewed but highly intelligent probes, perhaps even self-replicating probes, gradually spreading throughout the galaxy. If this seems fanciful, recall that there already are functioning probes operating in interstellar space.”
He mentioned a 1950 FBI memo which he believes is one of the most extraordinary UAP events in American history. He stated: “When in March of 1950, dozens of residents of nearby Farmington, New Mexico, reported hundreds of silver metallic disks flying in formation over their town in broad daylight.
In other words, hundreds of UAP were being observed by all manner of personnel in the vicinity of Los Alamos at precisely the time Dr. Fermi was professing bafflement over a perceived absence of alien life. The UAP evidence included numerous reports by trained observers, pilots, scientists, and security personnel, as well as photographs and even radar tracks and theodolite measurements.”
There are historic whistleblower provisions in the pending Intelligence and DoD Authorization bills in Congress. These provisions enjoy broad bipartisan and bicameral support and will almost certainly be enacted by the end of the year. Once enacted, they will enable Congress to learn the truth of long-standing allegations that the U.S. government is in possession of recovered alien technology.
Concurrently, pending legislation will require a General Accounting Office review of classified information pertaining to UAP dating back to the end of WWII. “I am already aware of a number of individuals who claim they will testify to the existence of recovered alien technology or are considering doing so,” Mr. Mellon said.
